My Guardian Angel

Yesterday, I made a mixed media painting of an angel with the words, "IF I COULD GIVE YOU ONE GIFT...I WOULD GIVE YOU THE ABILITY TO SEE YOURSELF AS I SEE YOU, SO YOU COULD SEE HOW TRULY "SPECIAL" YOU ARE!! I titled it "My Guardian Angel".  Check out the digital version....

Gratitude

I am ever so grateful for all the wonderful blessings that I have. Even the most simplest things like the air I breathe, the sunshine on a beautiful day, the kindness from people. My heart is full of hope for the future.  Everyday I am learning new stuff about art. Taking Lifebook classes with Tamara Laporte has really extended my knowledge about the different styles of "arting".  Not sure if that is a word.  I am definitely enjoying every minute of it. I am also continuing to learn Photoshop Elements and incorporating digital elements into my art work.  Totally loving it!

Here is one of my recent collaboration with painting and digital art. The following quote just connected with me: "People take different roads seeking fulfillment and happiness.  Just because they're not on your road doesn't mean they've gotten lost"...quote by the Dalai Lama.  So true!

My first attempt using water soluble crayons and soft pastels.  Here's a picture of how my art came out. I love the colors. They're so vibrant. I did them in a 5x7 strathmore journal.

Inspire..

I made this artwork tonight because I feel so motivated to continue with my art. At first, I just wanted to learn how to draw, paint, collage...just like in books and pictures. It didn't feel like it was just a hobby like when I first started creating jewelry. I feel it is something that I would love to be....an artist...with a successful creative business someday once I figure out all the ins and outs of running one. I would also like to learn more...from great artists that I've come across during my searches on the internet. Right now I'm still building up my tools of trade. It's slow but there's progress. I am always excited when I receive my art supplies in the mail. I couldn't wait to try them out. My journey has truly begun...

Life Book 2013 by Tammy Laporte

Today I signed up for this class Life Book 2013. It really sounds pretty awesome since you will learn from a variety of art teachers for the whole year in 2013. I am so excited about it because I get to expand my skills in mixed media and at the end of the year I can see all the artwork I've created taking the different classes each month. Artist Block

I have written down in my journal how overwhelming Kelly's online class has been for me. I do know that I'm not the only one feeling this way and that gives me comfort.  I also wrote that I have been having artist block wherein I just can't be creative the last few days. I think with family, life, work and so on and so forth, all this is clogging my mind and have been preventing me on being creative lately. However, towards the end of the week, inspiration started coming back and I am so glad.  I have created 3 mixed media art work and posting it here. Hope you guys like it. Oh, by the way, so many FB posts, I do not know where to start, I just have to pace myself. Keep up the good work fellow flyers. I know I am pushing on and will continue my journey into creating mixed media art.
